Rome and Egypt

Rome and Egypt by Williams Interactive

Most online slot players know how casino game developers love to make use of ancient civilisations as themes for their slots. Rome and Egypt is another of these, but WMS Gaming has gone so far as to combine two civilisations into one slot. Rome and Egypt is a pretty standard slot, with the usual five reels and a decent forty paylines. Coin limits run from 0.01 up to 5 coins.

The forty paylines are fixed however, so you do have to wager on all of them. This can be done for as little as 0.40 up to 200 which leaves a wide margin to suit all budgets. This slot may appeal to high rollers as well, as although playing with the maximum amount of coins per line may be quite a hefty investment; the maximum possible payout is a whopping 5000 coins, which is pretty decent.

Standard Graphics

The graphics in Rome and Egypt are not particularly mind boggling. They are pretty generic of an online slot, done in drawing style but not cartoon like. There are many bright colours however and lots of gold edging the reels. The background looks to be Egyptian style sand stone building blocks, such as one would find in the Great pyramid, rubbing shoulders with a Roman mosaic.

Ancient Theme and Symbols

For those that don’t know, the Roman and Egyptian civilisations did cross paths at some point in history, so Rome and Egypt is not a complete fantasy of the developers mind. This happened most famously with two historical characters; Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. Cleopatra was a female pharaoh of Egypt and Julius was the Emperor of Rome. Their love affair had everything a great romance novel has; betrayal, intrigue, a third party and sacrifice. Rome and Egypt slot represents this story with every symbol being theme based.

The lowest paying symbols that you are likely to find on the reels are grapes and plums, being favourite foods of each empire. From there we go up to a sword and shield, a wreath, roman temple and coliseum on the roman side. Egyptian icons are a staff, headwear, the Sphinx and of course a pyramid.

Rome and Egypt Free Spins and Stacked Wilds

Rome and Egypt has two main features. The first is the stacked wilds. There are two of these in the game and are represented by Cleopatra and Julius themselves. These stacked wilds take up more than one reel, which creates many more winning combinations. They can also take the place of any other symbols in the game as they are also the symbols that launch the free spins round.

To get free spins in Rome and Egypt you have to land Ceasar or Cleopatra or both on adjacent reels running from left to right.  The amount of symbols that you find will dictate how many free spins you get. Finding only two of them will give you five free spins, while five of them in a row will give you fifty free spins. The lower numbers happen way more often than the higher ones however. All wins are doubled during the free spins round, and it is possible to retrigger them by finding more Cleopatras or Caesars whilst spinning.
